About twenty years ago I first noticed—and marveled
at—the humility of a certain woman in the New Testament. Imagine calmly
persisting with a plea after your people had been likened to a pack of dogs!
But recently I noted something else. Imagine being BOLD enough to persevere
instead of giving up on your quest! Jesus not only commended her great faith,
but He also granted her request.
The Bible contains no contradictions. We should indeed
strive to be humble, but when we approach the throne of grace, God also wants
us to be bold.

ReplyDeleteA woman from India, who attends our church came to me in confidence, asking me to pray for her. She has been married for many years, and she and her husband have been asking the Lord for a child, to no avail. I prayed that God would bless them with a child. After I prayed she confided in me that she was approaching forty years of age, and time was getting short for her child-bearing years. I told her that nothing was impossible with God and that we should continue praying together and believing together that God would bless her with a child. She agreed, and I placed her on my prayer list. That was last December. Yesterday, at church, she happily told me that God had answered our prayers and she was 3 months pregnant! Tears came to my eyes as I hugged her and praised the Lord. What a mighty God we serve! 💕
